Patient Lift Troubleshooting Guide

Before calling for service, try these common troubleshooting steps.

Lift Won't Go Up or Down

1. Check battery connection to the lift
2. Emergency shut-off button — verify it hasn't been activated
3. Pendant/hand control — confirm fully plugged in
4. For Hoyer-style lifts — check wall power connection

Lift Won't Roll Smoothly

Carpet is the most common cause. Solutions:

• Place plastic floor mats to create smooth paths
• Use low-pile commercial carpet in care areas
• Consider an overhead (ceiling) lift

Overhead Lift Issues

1. Verify charger connection to the motor
2. Check emergency shut-off
3. Indicator lights: Green = charged, Orange = charging, No lights = power issue
