our Story
Our story begins in 1926, when Macdonald’s Prescriptions first opened its doors in Vancouver’s Georgia Medical Building. In the 1960s, a second location opened in the Fairmont Medical Building, where it still operates today. It was during this time that medical supplies became a natural extension of the care we provided, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Macdonald’s Home Health Care. The business has changed hands over the years but the core values remain.
In 2011, Macdonald’s Home Health Care expanded to include a dedicated Rehab Equipment Division and Service & Repair facility on West 6th Avenue. This allowed us to provide more specialized solutions, backed by hands-on expertise and reliable, ongoing service. In 2018, Evan Kellett and Patrick Zuccaro officially purchased the Rehab Equipment Division from the pharmacy and became the distinct entity we’ve come to know and love as Macdonald’s Home Health Care.
Over the years, we’ve continued to evolve through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to better care. In 2019, our collaboration with Priority Posture grew, and we welcomed James Cooper as a partner in our Burnaby location. Then in 2020, we took another major step by launching a Complex Rehab division alongside partners Anthony Purcell and Erik Hagreen, focusing even more expertise on advanced mobility and seating solutions for clients with more specialized needs.
Today, Macdonald’s Home Health Care is proud to be recognized as a trusted name across the Lower Mainland. But what truly defines us isn’t just our growth, it’s how we’ve grown.
Our team is built on long-standing relationships, shared experience, and a genuine commitment to the people we serve, and we remain committed to the communities we serve by being locally owned and operated. It’s a hands-on approach that allows us to solve unique challenges and make sure every detail works the way it should.
